Cream Puffs

Serves 6

Ingredients

1 cup water
¼ cup Kowalski's Butter
½ tsp. salt
1 cup flour
4 eggs
3 cups (approx.) Vanilla Pastry Cream
- confectioners' sugar, for garnishing
- Kowalski's Chocolate or Caramel Dessert Sauce (variety of your choice), warmed, for drizzling (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat water, butter and salt to a rolling boil; mix in flour by hand until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat; cool for 5 min.
  4. Beat in eggs by hand one at a time until smooth.
  5. Drop 6 evenly sized mounds 2" apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet; bake in preheated oven until puffed and golden-brown (35-40 min.).
  6. Carefully remove puffs from baking sheet; cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Cut off tops; remove soft dough from inside of both halves.
  8. Fill bottom half of each puff evenly with pastry cream; replace tops.
  9. Dust with confectioners' sugar; drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, if desired. Serve immediately.
