Cream Puffs
Ingredients
1 cup
water
¼ cup
Kowalski's Butter
½ tsp.
salt
1 cup
flour
4
eggs
3 cups (approx.)
Vanilla Pastry Cream
- confectioners' sugar, for garnishing
- Kowalski's Chocolate or Caramel Dessert Sauce (variety of your choice), warmed, for drizzling (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- In a medium saucepan, heat water, butter and salt to a rolling boil; mix in flour by hand until mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat; cool for 5 min.
- Beat in eggs by hand one at a time until smooth.
- Drop 6 evenly sized mounds 2" apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet; bake in preheated oven until puffed and golden-brown (35-40 min.).
- Carefully remove puffs from baking sheet; cool completely on a wire rack.
- Cut off tops; remove soft dough from inside of both halves.
- Fill bottom half of each puff evenly with pastry cream; replace tops.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar; drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, if desired. Serve immediately.
