Watermelon Juleps
Ingredients
16 oz.
prepared watermelon (cut into cubes, chunks or spears with rind removed), plus more for garnish, if desired
½ oz.
fresh mint, plus more sprigs for garnish
4 oz.
bourbon
2 tbsp.
superfine sugar
1 tbsp.
Kowalski's Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- ice
- club soda, to taste (optional)
Directions
- Chop watermelon; place in a large mixing bowl with mint leaves (discard mint stems) and bourbon.
- Sprinkle melon evenly with sugar and lime juice; toss to combine. Let stand for 30 min.
- Pour watermelon mixture into a food processor; process until very smooth.
- Pour mixture through a fine sieve into a pitcher, using a nylon spatula to press mixture through; discard solids.
- Fill 2 highball glasses with ice.
- Pour watermelon juice mixture into ice-filled glasses; top with a splash of club soda, if desired.
- Garnish each glass with a sprig of mint and watermelon, if desired.
