Spritz Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks)
Kowalski's Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
⅔ cup
sugar
1
egg
2 tsp.
Kowalski's Organic Madagascar Vanilla Extract
2 ¼ cups
flour
½ tsp.
kosher salt
- colored decorating sugars (optional)
Directions
- In a medium mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg and vanilla.
- In a separate small mixing bowl, mix together flour and salt; add to the bowl with the butter mixture and mix until no traces of flour remain.
- Divide dough in half; shape each half into a rough disc shape. Wrap dough tightly in plastic wrap; cover and chill until slightly stiff (about 30 min.).
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Place dough into a cookie press fitted with desired template; follow manufacturer's instructions to press cookies 1" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Sprinkle with colored sugars, if desired.
- Bake in preheated oven until edges are lightly browned (6-8 min.).
- Remove from oven; let cookies rest on sheet pans for 2 min., then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
