Easiest Standing Rib Roast
Ingredients
5 lb.
standing prime rib roast
1 tbsp.
kosher salt
½ tsp.
freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns
½ tsp.
granulated garlic (not garlic salt)
Directions
- Allow roast to stand at room temperature for 1 hr.
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- In a small dish, mix salt, pepper and garlic; rub mixture evenly onto roast.
- Place roast on a rack in a roasting pan, rib side down; roast in preheated oven, uncovered, for 1 hr.
- Turn off oven, but do not open oven door; leave roast in the oven for 3 hrs. more.
- Without opening oven door, heat oven to 375°; roast for 45 min.
- Remove roast from oven; tent loosely with foil and let stand for at least 15 min. before serving.
