Chipotle-Lime Crema
Ingredients
A note about gluten: When gluten-free chipotle chiles in adobo sauce are used, this recipe is gluten free.

medium lime
1 cup
sour cream
1
medium canned chipotle chile pepper in adobo sauce, plus 1 tsp. adobo sauce from the can
1 tsp.
garlic powder
1 tsp.
granulated sugar
½ tsp.
smoked paprika
- kosher salt and freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns, to taste
Directions
- Using a fine grater, remove 1 ½ tsp. zest from lime; set zest aside.
- Cut lime in half; squeeze to measure 1 tbsp. juice.
- In a food processor or blender, pulse remaining ingredients with lime juice and zest until mixture is well combined and chipotle pepper is completely broken up.
- Store in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 1 week. Try it topped on Juicy Lucia Burgers or use it for dipping Sweet Potato Taco Tots.
Tasty Tip:
- This recipe will make a mild crema. For an extra kick, add an additional chipotle pepper and adobo sauce.
