Easiest Waffles
Ingredients
1
egg
1 ⅓ cups
Kowalski's Pancake & Waffle Mix, your choice of flavor
1 cup
water
4 tsp.
canola oil
- toppings, to taste: Kowalski's Unsalted Butter and Kowalski's Pure Maple Syrup or Cinnamon-Vanilla Maple Syrup
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Preheat waffle iron.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk egg until very foamy.
- Add pancake mix, water and oil; whisk to combine just until evenly moist (mixture will be slightly lumpy).
- Scoop first batch of batter quickly and evenly onto the preheated waffle iron; cook according to manufacturer's instructions until waffle is crisp and well browned. When waffle is finished, place directly on the rack in the preheated oven for 5-10 min.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve waffles hot from the oven with desired toppings.
Tasty Tips:
- For the fluffiest waffles, separate the egg yolk from the white. Whip the whites to soft peaks in a separate bowl and fold them into the batter as a final step.
- Putting the waffles in the oven helps crisp up the exteriors, creating a perfect contrast with their fluffy interiors.
- The number of waffles this makes depends on your waffle maker. It will make about 4 waffles on a 6" round machine, each ½" thick. It will make 1 (1 ½" thick) Belgian waffle.
- Waffles may be frozen, well wrapped, for up to 3 months.
