Ginger Simple Syrup

Makes 1 cup

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 oz. fresh ginger, peeled, thinly sliced

Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  2. Add ginger; bring to a simmer.
  3. Remove from heat; let steep for 30 min.
  4. Strain syrup; discard ginger.
  5. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Tasty Tip:

  • Use this simple syrup to sweeten lemonade, iced or hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
  • Try incorporating it into cocktails, as in our Ginger Margarita or Ginger Martini recipes.
  • You can also use it to make Ginger Icing for cookies and cakes!
