Lentil Stew with Smoked Turkey Sausage
Ingredients
3 tbsp.
Kowalski's Extra Virgin Olive Oil
16 oz. pkg.
Kowalski's Fresh Soup Mix or Mirepoix
3 tbsp.
flour
8 cups
chicken broth
1
bay leaf
½ tsp.
dried thyme
1 ½ cups
dried lentils
1 tsp.
kosher salt
½ tsp.
freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns
12 oz.
smoked turkey sausage, sliced
Directions
- In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat; cook soup mix until softened (about 10 min.).
- Whisk in flour; cook for 2 min.
- Pour in broth. Add bay leaf, thyme, lentils, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer; cook until lentils are tender (65-75 min.).
- Stir in sausage; heat through.
