BLT Pasta Salad
Ingredients
16 oz.
Kowalskis's Applewood Smoked Bacon
16 oz.
Kowalski's Imported Italian Organic Penne Pasta (from the Global Foods Aisle)
3 tsp.
kosher salt, divided
10 oz.
grape tomatoes
1 ½ cups
Kowalski's Fresh Classic Ranch Salad Dressing (from the Produce Department)
½ cup
diced red onion
½ cup
shredded Kowalski's Parmesan Cheese
10 oz. (about 5 cups)
Romaine hearts
5 oz.
croutons
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook bacon over low heat until crisp; drain.
- Break each slice of bacon into 4 pieces; set aside.
- Cook pasta according to pkg. directions using 2 tsp. salt; drain and cool pasta to room temperature.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooled pasta, tomatoes, dressing, onion, cheese and 1 tsp. salt; refrigerate to blend flavors.
- Just before serving, carefully fold in bacon, lettuce and croutons.
Tasty Tips:
- If the salad is made ahead and refrigerated, the pasta will absorb the dressing. Keep additional dressing on hand to moisten the salad before serving.
