Maggie's Maltagliati (Dessert Pasta)

Serves 4

Ingredients

½ of a 12 oz. pkg. Kowalski's Fresh Lasagna Noodles, cut into irregular shapes
2 tbsp. Kowalski's Unsalted Butter
½ tart apple, julienned
1 recipe Cinnamon Sugar (see below), to taste
- garnishes, to taste: toasted pine nuts, finely minced fresh rosemary and freshly grated lemon zest

Directions
  1. Prepare pasta according to pkg. directions.
  2. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add apples; sauté in butter until just tender (1-2 min.). Keep warm.
  3. As soon as pasta is done, drain and add to the skillet with the apples; toss to evenly coat.
  4. Sprinkle with Cinnamon Sugar to taste; serve immediately with desired garnishes.

CINNAMON SUGAR: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together ¼ cup sugar, 2 tsp. ground cinnamon and a pinch each of salt, ground cloves, ground nutmeg and ground allspice.
