Balsamic Berry Sauce

Serves 6

Ingredients

1 lb. fresh Minnesota Grown strawberries, hulled and halved or quartered
1 pt. fresh blueberries
6 oz. fresh Minnesota Grown raspberries
6 oz. fresh blackberries
1 oz. fresh Minnesota Grown mint leaves, tied together with kitchen string, some small leaves reserved for garnish, if desired
6 tbsp. brown sugar
6 tbsp. Kowalski's Fig-Infused Balsamic Vinegar
¾ tsp. freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together fruit and mint; set aside.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, stir together sugar, vinegar and pepper; pour over fruit.
  3. Let stand for 30 min. to 1 hr., stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove mint bundle.
  5. Spoon sauce over yogurt, cake, ice cream, Individual Meringue Shells (as pictured) or other desserts, if desired. Garnish with mint leaves, if desired.

Tasty Tips:

  • After washing, allow berries to air-dry thoroughly before adding sugar and vinegar to prevent diluting the syrup.
  • Try basil in place of the mint!
