Easy Fried Calamari
Ingredients
- canola oil, for frying
1 cup
flour
1 tbsp.
dried parsley
1 generous pinch
kosher salt, plus extra for seasoning
1 lb.
calamari, cleaned, bodies sliced into ½ rings, tentacles whole
- freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns, to taste

½ cup
Kowalski's Classic Marinara Pasta Sauce, warmed, for dipping
Directions
- In a deep pot, heat 2-3" of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°.
- In a shallow dish, whisk flour with parsley and salt.
- Dredge calamari in flour. Shake off excess flour and carefully place calamari in oil; fry until golden (2-3 min.). Carefully remove fried calamari from oil; place on paper towels to drain. Repeat dredging and frying process until all calamari is done.
- Season with salt and pepper; squeeze lemon juice over calamari.
- Serve calamari with warm marinara sauce.
