Keys Café Bakery

Keys Café Bakery

In November of 1973, Barbara Hunn-Meisen founded and opened the first Keys Café in St. Paul on Raymond Avenue. It was a risk, a dream and an incredible adventure for this former registered nurse looking for something more, something hers, something memorable.

Over the next 50 years, Barbara, with the help of her family, refined and improved her successful formula. Today, Keys Café has expanded to eight locations in the greater Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. They have been recognized and awarded both locally and nationally for their delicious and generously portioned made-from-scratch food and bakery products, including awards from Bon Appétit, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Minnesota Monthly and many others. This recognition culminated in Barbara's induction into the Minnesota Restaurant Association Hall of Fame in 2018!

In addition, Barbara and her family launched the Keys Charity Fund in 2004, which has raised over $700,000 for families in significant need.

The Keys Café philosophy is simple: Memorable service and absolutely the best made-from-scratch food - breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts – "the food you grew up with"!
